2018 Twins Offseason Blueprint

The Twins had such a successful 2017 that I think it is a shame to change too much.  With Detroit, Kansas City, and Chicago likely going to be rebuilding.  The key going forward is their pitching and making sure that the young players don't have step back's what they did in 2017.  I will start from what I would go through the 40 man roster, through trades and finally through free agency.

1.)  Sign Jake Mcghee to a three year 24 million dollar deal to be the Twins Closer.  Brings velocity and ability to miss bats which will help the stats


2).  Resign Matt Belisle to a one year contract worth 3.4 plus incentives


3).  Sign Brian Duensing to a one year 3 million dollar contract to finish his career back with the Twins.


4).  This is the biggy as the Twins need an ace if they are going to take it to the next level.  I trade Nick Gordon, Alex Kirrolloff, and Adalberto Mejia to the Pirates for Gerrit Cole 


5). Sign Brian Dozier to a five-year deal in which his 2018 salary is torn up.  Wages would go:
2018:  15.0
2019  16.0
2020:  17.0
2021: 19.0
2022: 20.00
That equals a five year 87 million deal


6). Sign Joe Mauer to a two year 24 million extension through 2020 which will equal three years 47 million at which Time Joe Mauer retires for the only team he has ever played for.


7).  Tender everyone except Ryan Pressly who has a great arm, but his pitches are flat and is not consistent enough.


8). Sign Mike Napoli to a one year 5 million deal plus incentives.  He is not the same guy he used to be, but he can still hit left-handed pitching efficiently and a bench bat against right-handers
